Help with Dobbin
Short answers for setting up, sharing with another caregiver and keeping your records. Can't find what you need? Get in touch.
Getting started
Open Dobbin on your iPhone and sign in with Apple. There's no password to create, and Dobbin never sees your Apple Account password.
Then create a household for your family, or join one with an invitation from whoever set it up. Add your caregiver profile and your baby. You can add more children later under Account → Children & profiles.
Inviting a caregiver
The household owner opens Account → Caregivers and shares an invitation. Each invitation works once, for one Apple Account, and expires after 24 hours, so send a fresh one if it runs out.
The other person opens the invitation on their iPhone, signs in with Apple and accepts. If they already have a household of their own, it stays as it is; nothing is copied between households. Owners can remove caregivers, and anyone else can leave from the Account screen.
Setting up Apple Watch
Make sure Dobbin is signed in on your iPhone, then open Dobbin on your Apple Watch. The Watch gets its own secure session from your iPhone; if it says “Set up on iPhone”, open Dobbin on the iPhone and keep both nearby for a moment.
After that one-time setup, the Watch talks to your household directly over Wi‑Fi or cellular, so it keeps working while your phone is in another room. The Watch app needs watchOS 26 or later.
Complications and the Smart Stack
Edit your watch face to add Dobbin complications: time since the last feed, asleep for or awake for, and whatever timer is running.
Feed and sleep controls are also in the Smart Stack and Control Center, and work through Siri, Shortcuts and the Action button on watches that have one. Tapped the wrong thing? Undo it from the confirmation on your wrist.
Syncing between caregivers
Everyone in a household reads the same timeline from one place. While the app is open, a change from another caregiver shows up within a few seconds; widgets refresh in the background.
History stays readable without a connection, but saving a new entry needs one, so the app tells you when something hasn't been saved yet. If things look out of date, check Account → Connection, which shows whether you're connected.
Live Activities for naps
While a nap is running, it shows as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one, on every signed-in caregiver's iPhone, whichever device started it. Feed timers don't get a Live Activity.
Not seeing it? Check that Live Activities are allowed for Dobbin in the iPhone Settings app.
Widgets
Add the Dobbin Status widget from the widget gallery on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. It shows a running timer, or the most recent activity when nothing is running.
Exporting your data (CSV and PDF)
Go to Account → Export and choose a format: a CSV spreadsheet of logged activity, a PDF summary to read, print or share, or a Backup with everything, photos included, in a file Dobbin can restore.
Save or send the file from the share sheet. Dobbin removes its own copy after 24 hours; anything you save is yours to keep.
Deleting your account
On your iPhone, go to Account → Delete Account. Apple may ask you to confirm it's you. Dobbin then asks Apple to disconnect Sign in with Apple, or explains how to do it in Settings if that step can't finish.
Households where you're the only member are deleted completely, including their activity, child profiles and photos. Shared households keep going for the other caregivers with everything already logged; if you own one, the person who joined it first becomes the owner. You're signed out on your iPhone, your Apple Watch and every other device.
Deleting an account can't be undone, so export a backup first if you'd like a copy. To leave or delete just one household instead, use Leave Household or Delete Household on the Account screen.
Privacy
Dobbin has no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking SDKs, and your records are readable only by the people in your household. The privacy policy covers what's stored, where, and what deleting your account removes.
