Which one fits your family?

Sprout Baby Tracker does some things Dobbin doesn't. Here's when each one is the better pick.

Sprout is the better pick if…

  • You want the app to predict the next nap and wakeup, with Sleep Forecast.
  • You want detailed health records: doctor visits, immunizations, medications, WHO and CDC growth charts and a mood log.
  • Someone in your household uses Android, an iPad or a Mac.
  • You'd like a photo journal you can turn into a keepsake book.

Dobbin is the better pick if…

  • You'd rather pay $19.99 once than renew Premium every month or year.
  • You want a nap or breastfeed your partner starts on your Lock Screen instantly, with Alert, Quietly or Off for each parent.
  • You log from your Apple Watch, often with your phone in another room.

Switching

Moving from Sprout takes a few minutes.

  1. Keep your history

Sprout's App Store listing doesn't describe exporting your log. Check its settings, or ask Sprout's support team for a copy, before you cancel Premium.

  2. Set up your household

Once Dobbin is on the App Store, install it, sign in with Apple and add your baby. Start with a 14‑day free trial, then $19.99 once for the whole household.

  3. Bring everyone in

Invite your partner and anyone else who helps, then add the complications to your watch face.

FAQ

Dobbin vs Sprout questions

Is Sprout Baby Tracker free?

Sprout is a free download with a Premium subscription, and it offers a free trial of Premium. As of October 2026, Premium costs $14.99 or $19.99 a month, $59.99 a year or $5.99 a week on the US App Store. Its listing doesn't spell out which features stay free without Premium.

Is there a Sprout alternative without a subscription?

Dobbin has a 14‑day free trial, then $19.99 once for the whole household, with unlimited logging, every caregiver and an Apple Watch app, and no ads or tracking SDKs. ParentLove also sells one-time upgrades, though it has no Apple Watch app.

Does Dobbin predict naps like Sprout's Sleep Forecast?

No. Dobbin shows how long your baby has been awake, on your iPhone and as a Watch complication, and links to typical wake windows by age, but it doesn't predict nap times. If nap predictions matter most, Sprout's Sleep Forecast is the better fit.

Does Sprout have an Apple Watch app?

Yes. Sprout's Watch app logs feeds, sleep and diapers, works with double tap, and has a large complication for time since the last feed, sleep and diaper. Dobbin's Watch app logs feeds, sleep, pumping, diapers and routines, and keeps working with your iPhone in another room.

Can I move my Sprout data to Dobbin?

Not yet. Dobbin can't import other apps' data today. Keep your Sprout history where it is, and start fresh in Dobbin; the last day or two is usually enough to pick up the routine.
